Once past Her fullness, the Moon begins to wane, entering Her Third Quarter. Today (19 November), She is a Waning Gibbous Moon. Her energy is turning inward. While She expressed Her Fullest moment in Taurus on Sunday (17 November), that evening at 7:07 PM EST, She entered Gemini where She continues to travel today.
This morning She squared off with Mars, a sometimes jolting and high energy encounter which you may have felt in a similar way. From that encounter Mother Moon took a solitary path which She will keep until Wednesday early morning. The Gemini energy creates mental stimulus, keeping the mind alert, or perhaps restless. It is a great time to challenge friends to games that test their mental agility.
As the Moon glides into Cancer on Wednesday morning (20 November) you may feel a wave of comfort and contentment. She is at home here, nurtured and looked after. Enjoy the urge to do the same for your loved ones, and their attentions of the same kind. Around mid-day the Moon and Neptune make contact, now the warm glow you have been feeling may become wistful. If you are able, follow Mother Moon’s lead, do something for someone that she or he may only have dreamed of someone doing.
Overnight, the Moon begins a very busy day of interacting. While you are dreaming, She will face off with Uranus, come into contention with Pluto and receive some welcome support from Mercury. These energies may influence your dreams to become fitful, filled with urges to seek radical solutions and changes of great magnitude. Or, if you are one of those who works overnight, these energies will be around you in your night time activities.
Mercury’s involvement could allow your waking to hold explanations of the mental images you dreamed. Or, He may allow you to articulate the rationale behind your behavior as you work. By mid-day Thursday (21 November), Venus seeks the Moon’s attention. Some emotional challenges may arise and a feeling of uncertainty regarding their resolution.
Within a few hours, Saturn’s energy can be felt as He makes contact with the Moon. His is often the voice of reason and it never hurts to listen. If you feel a need to assert your own boundaries, or stick to a rule that has served you well in the past, go with it. Mother Moon encourages you to trust yourself and the lessons Saturn may have taught you before.
Late Thursday night the Moon visits Jupiter who is making His home in Cancer these days. All things are multiplied under His influence, and the Moon’s energy is no exception. This may be a night of wishing only to wrap up in a cozy favorite spot at home and enjoy the embrace of home, hearth and family. Or, your heart may fill with the desire to reach out beyond the usual boundaries of your own home. Perhaps there is something you can do to insure that someone you may not know experiences the joy of being taken care of.
Overnight, into the very early morning hours of Friday (22 November), the Moon makes a quick, friendly visit with Mars. A shot of start up energy may be felt. This visit past, Mother Moon allows herself the respite of a lone journey with no contact for the rest of the day. It should be a day of steady emotions, a time to reflect on what you have enjoyed under the Cancer Moon and to look forward to the new dynamics of the Moon in Leo. This evening, at 6:56 PM EST, the Moon begins to be bathed in those energies. Creative juices flow. To do and make, and be applauded for it, is all we really desire under this Moon. Be complimentary yourself, raise up those around you and the appreciation will stream back to you.
Later tonight, the Moon and Sun rendezvous under very positive circumstances. When these two work in synchronization, it can be a wondrous feeling for us. With strength of will and character in tandem with emotional fortitude, you may feel you are ready to take on any previously perceived as monumental task. If it can be accomplished tonight, or with only needing some finishing touches in the morning, go for it.
Saturday morning (23 November) holds no big surprises or impediments to following through with the boost the Moon and Sun created last night. The Moon in Leo energy will see you thrive on a new accomplishment. Around mid-day, the Moon and Uranus make contact. Uranus energy always sets us thinking in unique, perhaps radical ways. Mother Moon may express those energies to you as an urge to make some changes. Always be cautious when She is listening to Uranus. Open your eyes, allow time to consider before you leap.
Late tonight the Moon will square off with Mercury. When these two do not see eye-to-eye, it can be tumultuous for us. You may experience difficulty expressing the feelings you wish to share, or you may feel pressured to articulate something you simply are not prepared to share. Know that at this time, it is most important to realize it is this energy that is effecting you, and to be satisfied to await its resolution. You simply may not have a ready solution.
While the Moon’s night will be uneventful, just before dawn Sunday morning (24 November) She will be in contention once again. This time with Saturn. You know Saturn will have us stick to our life rules and scolds when we stray. Mother Moon will take the brunt of His ire and you may feel unsettled upon awakening. If you immediately feel you have been caught out, or disciplined in your sleep, or feel it is imminent, it is quite likely residual effects from their encounter.
The Moon’s method of shaking it off is to take the day journeying on Her own, making no contact with Her companions until tomorrow morning. Follow Her lead. Know that Saturn is only nudging you because it is His nature, and it is Mother Moon’s job to protect you. Their disagreement is an opportunity to explore your own boundaries, habits and ways to discern if there is room for improvement, if you have strayed from your goals. Do not fret, simply assess, apply and go on.
Monday morning (25 November) first thing (7:11 AM EST), the Moon enters Virgo. It is a perfect day for doing what must be done. If you are at home you will want to tend to domestic duties. It is unlikely you will be tempted to laze the day away. If at work, you may find yourself more than a little concerned with how you approach your tasks, and that protocol be followed in every detail. Midday, Uranus waves to the Moon, enticing Her to feel His urging to abandon the work at hand, to escape to some other endeavor. You may feel the tug, and struggle with it, but at worst you will negotiate a deal with yourself. Something like, getting this and that done, and then going to your favorite coffee shop for a short break, before you come back and finish up.
As the Sun approaches Mother Moon later this afternoon may be a good time to take that break. Their visit will be less than cooperative. With your intuition arguing with your rational self, whatever tasks you have set yourself may suffer anyway. Take that break between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM to minimize the effect of their bickering. The rest of the day should find you contentedly facing your duties, at work and at home.
As Monday gives way to Tuesday (26 November), in the small hours of the morning, the Moon takes a hand from Pluto. His energy can be stabilizing, if you see it coming. Or, it can rock your foundation. As you awaken Tuesday morning, recall your dreams, there may be messages of import carried by the Moon as Pluto made contact with Her.
Much later in the day, Saturn and then Mercury draw Mother Moon’s attention to themselves. This should be a good time for you to convey an important plan, or set of instructions, or preferred order of action to someone. Allow these two strong influences working through Mother Moon to enhance your ability to say what needs to be said to ensure the best execution of something of import.
This evening you may feel inclined to please yourself with some window shopping, a trip through your favorite park, or some quality time with a dear one. When the Moon and Venus are on good terms, as they will be during this evening, such urges come to us. As the evening becomes night, Jupiter enjoins Mother Moon to continue the feel good theme of the evening. He is dwelling in Her domicile and is very well treated there. He wishes us to spread the joy and contentment He is enjoying.
Wednesday morning (27 November) commences on a very different footing, as the Moon and Mars make very close contact and their combined energy sparks very different inclinations. You may find yourself wearing your emotions on your sleeve, sharing them without hesitation in what may feel like an act of self-preservation. Forewarned is forearmed, be aware of this inflammatory possibility and try to minimize it. Unless you have been postponing a necessary confrontation, but simply have not had the courage to pursue it; in which case, this may be your moment.
After the fiery encounter with Mars, Mother Moon keeps to a path of solitude, making contact with none of Her companions for the remainder of the day. This evening, She enters Libra where the energy She is surrounded by promises Her harmony and balance. Regardless of which influence the day’s Mars energy has had upon you, following the Moon’s example of focusing inward and allowing the Libra energy to wash over you will be uplifting. The Moon is very close to Her darkest time, waning toward it day-by-day this week. Now is an opportune time to begin to tap into that transition for your own benefit as well.
