November Third Quarter Moon

Moon PhasesOnce past Her fullness, the Moon begins to wane, entering Her Third Quarter. Today (19 November), She is a Waning Gibbous Moon. Her energy is turning inward. While She expressed Her Fullest moment in Taurus on Sunday (17 November), that evening at 7:07 PM EST, She entered Gemini where She continues to travel today.

This morning She squared off with Mars, a sometimes jolting and high energy encounter which you may have felt in a similar way. From that encounter Mother Moon took a solitary path which She will keep until Wednesday early morning. The Gemini energy creates mental stimulus, keeping the mind alert, or perhaps restless. It is a great time to challenge friends to games that test their mental agility.

As the Moon glides into Cancer on Wednesday morning (20 November) you may feel a wave of comfort and contentment. She is at home here, nurtured and looked after. Enjoy the urge to do the same for your loved ones, and their attentions of the same kind. Around mid-day the Moon and Neptune make contact, now the warm glow you have been feeling may become wistful. If you are able, follow Mother Moon’s lead, do something for someone that she or he may only have dreamed of someone doing.

Overnight, the Moon begins a very busy day of interacting. While you are dreaming, She will face off with Uranus, come into contention with Pluto and receive some welcome support from Mercury. These energies may influence your dreams to become fitful, filled with urges to seek radical solutions and changes of great magnitude. Or, if you are one of those who works overnight, these energies will be around you in your night time activities.

Mercury’s involvement could allow your waking to hold explanations of the mental images you dreamed. Or, He may allow you to articulate the rationale behind your behavior as you work. By mid-day Thursday (21 November), Venus seeks the Moon’s attention. Some emotional challenges may arise and a feeling of uncertainty regarding their resolution.

Within a few hours, Saturn’s energy can be felt as He makes contact with the Moon. His is often the voice of reason and it never hurts to listen. If you feel a need to assert your own boundaries, or stick to a rule that has served you well in the past, go with it. Mother Moon encourages you to trust yourself and the lessons Saturn may have taught you before.

Late Thursday night the Moon visits Jupiter who is making His home in Cancer these days. All things are multiplied under His influence, and the Moon’s energy is no exception. This may be a night of wishing only to wrap up in a cozy favorite spot at home and enjoy the embrace of home, hearth and family. Or, your heart may fill with the desire to reach out beyond the usual boundaries of your own home. Perhaps there is something you can do to insure that someone you may not know experiences the joy of being taken care of.

Overnight, into the very early morning hours of Friday (22 November), the Moon makes a quick, friendly visit with Mars. A shot of start up energy may be felt. This visit past, Mother Moon allows herself the respite of a lone journey with no contact for the rest of the day. It should be a day of steady emotions, a time to reflect on what you have enjoyed under the Cancer Moon and to look forward to the new dynamics of the Moon in Leo. This evening, at 6:56 PM EST, the Moon begins to be bathed in those energies. Creative juices flow. To do and make, and be applauded for it, is all we really desire under this Moon. Be complimentary yourself, raise up those around you and the appreciation will stream back to you.

Later tonight, the Moon and Sun rendezvous under very positive circumstances. When these two work in synchronization, it can be a wondrous feeling for us. With strength of will and character in tandem with emotional fortitude, you may feel you are ready to take on any previously perceived as monumental task. If it can be accomplished tonight, or with only needing some finishing touches in the morning, go for it.

Saturday morning (23 November) holds no big surprises or impediments to following through with the boost the Moon and Sun created last night. The Moon in Leo energy will see you thrive on a new accomplishment. Around mid-day, the Moon and Uranus make contact. Uranus energy always sets us thinking in unique, perhaps radical ways. Mother Moon may express those energies to you as an urge to make some changes. Always be cautious when She is listening to Uranus. Open your eyes, allow time to consider before you leap.

Late tonight the Moon will square off with Mercury. When these two do not see eye-to-eye, it can be tumultuous for us. You may experience difficulty expressing the feelings you wish to share, or you may feel pressured to articulate something you simply are not prepared to share. Know that at this time, it is most important to realize it is this energy that is effecting you, and to be satisfied to await its resolution. You simply may not have a ready solution.

While the Moon’s night will be uneventful, just before dawn Sunday morning (24 November) She will be in contention once again. This time with Saturn. You know Saturn will have us stick to our life rules and scolds when we stray. Mother Moon will take the brunt of His ire and you may feel unsettled upon awakening. If you immediately feel you have been caught out, or disciplined in your sleep, or feel it is imminent, it is quite likely residual effects from their encounter.

The Moon’s method of shaking it off is to take the day journeying on Her own, making no contact with Her companions until tomorrow morning. Follow Her lead. Know that Saturn is only nudging you because it is His nature, and it is Mother Moon’s job to protect you. Their disagreement is an opportunity to explore your own boundaries, habits and ways to discern if there is room for improvement, if you have strayed from your goals. Do not fret, simply assess, apply and go on.

Monday morning (25 November) first thing (7:11 AM EST), the Moon enters Virgo. It is a perfect day for doing what must be done. If you are at home you will want to tend to domestic duties. It is unlikely you will be tempted to laze the day away. If at work, you may find yourself more than a little concerned with how you approach your tasks, and that protocol be followed in every detail. Midday, Uranus waves to the Moon, enticing Her to feel His urging to abandon the work at hand, to escape to some other endeavor. You may feel the tug, and struggle with it, but at worst you will negotiate a deal with yourself. Something like, getting this and that done, and then going to your favorite coffee shop for a short break, before you come back and finish up.

As the Sun approaches Mother Moon later this afternoon may be a good time to take that break. Their visit will be less than cooperative. With your intuition arguing with your rational self, whatever tasks you have set yourself may suffer anyway. Take that break between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM to minimize the effect of their bickering. The rest of the day should find you contentedly facing your duties, at work and at home.

As Monday gives way to Tuesday (26 November), in the small hours of the morning, the Moon takes a hand from Pluto. His energy can be stabilizing, if you see it coming. Or, it can rock your foundation. As you awaken Tuesday morning, recall your dreams, there may be messages of import carried by the Moon as Pluto made contact with Her.

Much later in the day, Saturn and then Mercury draw Mother Moon’s attention to themselves. This should be a good time for you to convey an important plan, or set of instructions, or preferred order of action to someone. Allow these two strong influences working through Mother Moon to enhance your ability to say what needs to be said to ensure the best execution of something of import.

This evening you may feel inclined to please yourself with some window shopping, a trip through your favorite park, or some quality time with a dear one. When the Moon and Venus are on good terms, as they will be during this evening, such urges come to us. As the evening becomes night, Jupiter enjoins Mother Moon to continue the feel good theme of the evening. He is dwelling in Her domicile and is very well treated there. He wishes us to spread the joy and contentment He is enjoying.

Wednesday morning (27 November) commences on a very different footing, as the Moon and Mars make very close contact and their combined energy sparks very different inclinations. You may find yourself wearing your emotions on your sleeve, sharing them without hesitation in what may feel like an act of self-preservation. Forewarned is forearmed, be aware of this inflammatory possibility and try to minimize it. Unless you have been postponing a necessary confrontation, but simply have not had the courage to pursue it; in which case, this may be your moment.

After the fiery encounter with Mars, Mother Moon keeps to a path of solitude, making contact with none of Her companions for the remainder of the day. This evening, She enters Libra where the energy She is surrounded by promises Her harmony and balance. Regardless of which influence the day’s Mars energy has had upon you, following the Moon’s example of focusing inward and allowing the Libra energy to wash over you will be uplifting. The Moon is very close to Her darkest time, waning toward it day-by-day this week. Now is an opportune time to begin to tap into that transition for your own benefit as well.

October Full Moon in Aries

Aries_FMAs the Moon approaches Her Fullness on Friday (18 October), She will begin Her day with a testy visit to Jupiter; you may likewise sense your day beginning on an off note. If the exact truth of things eludes you, or if rational explanations fail you, file that thought and move on. Make no important decisions; they can wait. As the day progresses things will come into balance and may be much clearer to you. Mother Moon is Full in Aries here in Bradenton at 7:38 PM EDT tonight.

The Full Moon is the Moon at Her greatest outward energy. Aries is the sign of primal energy and the Moon is thus twice empowered. Add to these, the positioning of the Sun and Moon at this time yielding a Lunar Eclipse, and Her power is thereby threefold enhanced with raw energy. This is a night for attuning to Her great strength. Give thought to your best use of this boon and apply it wisely.

As the Moon achieves Her complete fullness, She chooses a solitary path for several hours. With such empowerment as She has already gained, She need not seek more from Her companions. Perhaps your pursuits will follow a similar scheme. As the new day asserts itself and dawn approaches, She enters Taurus. Mother Moon inspires our productivity in Taurus, and yet also encourages our enjoying life in all its most fulfilling realms.

Soon after Sunrise (Saturday, 19 October), the Moon enjoys a friendly exchange with Mars, followed shortly after by an amiable encounter with Neptune and immediately, a likewise congenial visit with Pluto. These three have much to offer Mother Moon. Depending on their relationships in your own natal chart, you may feel their influences. Perhaps you will begin the day with a sense of empowerment, a yen to follow your dreams, putting your present mundane existence behind you to strike out into a new venture. Mars and Neptune themselves will soon be vying for the Moon’s attention which creates an urgency in your thinking.

Overnight, as if realizing the influences at work on the Moon, Saturn steps in to remind Her of the sensible choices that ought to be made. Sunday morning (20 October) will find your emotional urgency calmed significantly and prudence winning you over. Early this afternoon, Mercury takes His turn seeking to balance the Moon’s way forward. As evening begins, Jupiter adds His spirited support. These gentle encounters with Mother Moon promote a peaceful settling of the emotional quest you may have been experiencing.

Mercury_Rx_Deity Work

All things considered, you may feel quite content to take a respite from the deep decisions of life and get your hands into a project of the physical plane. Monday morning (21 October) is a good time for it, but make it something you have undertaken before, and nothing of any great import. This morning Mercury enters His astrological retrograde time and it is best to take things slowly, thoughtfully and with patience. Mid-day, the Moon enters Gemini; the Moon in Gemini seeks friends, fun and mental play.

Monday evening, Neptune and Mars are both in contention with the Moon and effect Her personable mood. Their energy may influence your good mood in an unpleasant way as well. Look forward to tomorrow (22 October) when the day begins with the rebel attitude of Uranus appealing to Mother Moon. With the energy of Gemini surrounding Her, communication is Her strength, perhaps your ability to describe and explain the change you envision will win the day.

Mother Moon seeks the company of Venus tonight. From their quest for a harmonious connection may come the need to enjoy a few small pleasures, to bask in a short indulgence of no practical use or to explore thoroughly the joys of intimacy. Know that these are the Moon’s own quests and She is your guide. Late tonight, as midnight approaches, Mercury challenges the Moon. In His retrograde mode His challenges are probing and urge looking inward. Awake or asleep, you may feel His nudge.

In the 2:00 AM hour of Wednesday morning (23 October), the Sun enters Scorpio. Power abounds, power to transform, power to heal, but beware the abuse of such great power. The Moon spends Her day reflecting the Sun’s transition. She is keeping to Herself and yet She is available to you for deep processing of what your psyche most needs to attend.

Late tonight She will move into Her own home of Cancer, basking in the nurturing energy which flows here. Hence, as She makes strong, collaborative contact with the Sun at the beginning of the new day (Thursday, 24 October), you too are imbued with a sense of deep caring and intensity in your familial connections. Perhaps your waking dreams will carry these sensations forward into your day as Neptune adds His strong support to Mother Moon’s out pouring.

The world may appear quite rose colored this morning. Remember that your dreams and our waking world are not entirely the same. When Mars reaches out to the Moon mid-morning, His energy encourages bold action and spontaneous decisions. If you feel yourself propelled in this way – perhaps Mars is quite strong in your own natal configurations – take a breath, think again and make sure embarrassment or worse will not follow your impulse.

Tonight Pluto and Uranus are on the Moon’s astrological path in close sequence. Standing in opposition to Her, Pluto may have an ominous impact on your emotions, or may simply incline you toward a preference to be alone to wrestle with your internal explorations. Recall that Mother Moon has left Her Full phase behind and is well into Her waning, a time of traveling inward. Change may be a path you are contemplating, often a difficult one. The energy Uranus shares with the Moon encourages quick change, sudden action, and no procrastination. It is for you to decide if this advice is best for you.

Overnight the Moon will meet Saturn, an amiable visit and one likely to put Her in a cautious mood. You may find yourself experiencing the same imposition of boundaries on how far you care to take any change, for now. Mid-morning (Friday, 25 October) the Moon and Mercury make contact and their friendly visit may stimulate your thinking, communicating or developing your ideas may feel more easily done. Or, remember Mercury in His current astrological role, seeming to move backwards, may influence you to reverse your thinking, encouraging you to revisit the path of rationalization you had taken.

This evening, as the Moon spends Her final hours comfortable in Her sign of Cancer, She makes an intimate call on Jupiter. He is kind and filled with joy to be close to Her. Their very uplifting and horizon expanding energy may be felt as your evening begins. If you are enthused about exploring a venue you never have before – for fun, for dinner, for learning – go for it. It should be a wonderful night for trying something you had not dared to try before now.

Saturday (26 October) is a lazy day for Mother Moon. She is on Her path alone, relishing the peace filled time of content until She makes another change and enters Leo. You have plenty of time as well, to pamper yourself, or someone close to you. To bask in the loving arms of family and home. Today these may be just the things that hold the greatest appeal to you.

Nearly an entire Sun cycle after Her visit with Jupiter, in the middle of the day today, She does enter Leo. In Leo the Moon becomes an entity to be appreciated. While She has been content to be at home and alone, now She craves attention and entertainment. Prepare yourself for drama on any front. The best thing any of us can do during the time of the Moon in Leo is to appreciate each other. Allow your inner child to perform, and appreciate the performances of others.

Tonight the Moon will enter Her Last Quarter, but She will have set mid-afternoon. You will see Her after midnight, overnight and into Sunday morning. She is waning, and each night we have less and less of Her time visible to us; and Her size diminishes as well, the Crescent develops and disappears over the next week. Now is the time to begin to think about your own inward journey, where the Moon is leading you, and to look within, spending time with your Self.

Sunday morning (27 October) the Moon’s path and Uranus’s path are intertwined. He always brings Her energy for a new way, an urge to leave the old and find the new. If you awake with a certain energy of a similar nature, Mother Moon is encouraging you, too, to look outside the habits, and routines of life. Like clock work, this afternoon Saturn will cross the Moon’s path Himself. He naturally advises against any radical change or adopting any ways that have not been thought through and pre-tested. Know that, if you decide to take a huge leap of faith, and make a giant change in your life; this afternoon you will have the presence of mind to think twice, if you allow Saturn’s influence to have its effect.

This evening Mercury will be continuing the stream of thought Saturn had begun. He will square off to the Moon, offering support, but in modes that may not suit all that She has contended with today. If there is some inner turmoil, and difficulty expressing why, you are feeling what the Moon’s day has wrought. Try to put it in the back of your mind. Let your internal energetic Self mull it over. Tomorrow morning will dawn in a calmer frame for Mother Moon – and you.

Especially if Venus is strong in your natal chart, Monday morning (28 October) should start with a certain glowing joy. The Moon’s visit with Venus inspires Her to look forward to the beauty and loving surrounds of the day. You may drift through the day happy to feel that nothing could ruin your fine mood. Likewise the Moon is traveling Her solitary path with no interruptions and no nay sayers to the lovely mood Venus conferred upon Her. Enjoy!

Just before Monday becomes Tuesday (29 October), the Moon will enter Virgo. For the Moon a new energy pervades Her journey for a few days. Virgo energy encourages attention to that which must be done because the wheels do not turn without the details behind the big picture. You may feel the time has come to buckle down and take on that garage clean out, or window washing or car detailing that you know ought to be done.

On the other hand, in the early hours after entering Virgo, Neptune beckons Mother Moon from across the sky. He encourages a less stringent intensity to Her need to focus on the minutia of life. His influence may have either effect on you: clarity may reveal the absolute necessity of the designated chore, or delusion may persuade you to put it off for now, tomorrow is another day.  Or, knowing the forces at play, you may be empowered to make the best choice for yourself.

By the middle of the day, the Moon has moved on and is enjoying a short nod and smile from the Sun. When the Moon and Sun have such contact, you may feel the quick, but sweet jolt of unifying energy. Astrological yin and yang balancing within you, for a brief moment of unfettered bonding. See if you notice it, can savor it; perhaps learn to recognize it.

This evening the Moon’s path brings Her right up to Mars on His journey in Virgo. Given His nature toward action, the Moon feels the combined input of His dynamic and the Virgo energy as a renewal of the inclination to worry over detail and the duties that must not be neglected. This evening you may find yourself inclined to tidy the house, run the car through the carwash, or do a few loads of laundry.

As the evening progresses, Pluto also makes contact with the Moon. He brings the notion of true transformation, the urge to bring something to culmination, as surely something beyond it awaits its beginning. This could be a household project you have discovered in your flurry of activity this evening. Or, it could be something to be discovered with the inner work the Moon has not forgotten must be done in these few days before Her full waning and Dark Phase. Either way, allow the Moon’s energy to guide you in the direction which feels right for your Self.

Over night, just as Wednesday (30 October) is beginning, the Moon finds Herself contacting Mercury. Remember that Mercury is astrologically in retrograde now. He and Mother Moon are in accord, their energy combining to encourage our journey inward. Shortly after, Saturn takes His turn connecting with Mother Moon, A friendly visit, but as always, His advice is in favor of discipline, understanding limitations and rule adherence.

Lest your dreams become over laden with serious themes, this afternoon, Jupiter also makes friendly contact with the Moon. Although He will encourage the extension and enhancement of all the delving and inner work that Mercury and Saturn have encouraged; He will also encourage positive thinking and joyful outcomes to your deepest pondering.

Not until much later tonight, when the Moon and Venus square off, is there a somewhat trying moment along Her path. Venus is always looking after our concerns for Self, and others, in the ways of love, as well as our aesthetic needs and desires. She urges Mother Moon, and in turn you, to include these considerations as you make your conclusions, for the Dark Moon is looming and soon the energy flow will begin to reverse. The time of applying what you have learned during this waning phase is approaching.

Thursday (October 31) is an auspicious day by all accounts. Whether you celebrate Halloween as is common in the USA today, or Samhain – a major Sabbat on the Pagan Wheel of the Year, it is a day of celebration. In the very early morning hours, the Moon will be following Her designated path alone, taking Her own inward journey. Your dreams may be remote and difficult to remember, or vivid and still with you on awakening, much depends on your own astrological configurations; but Her energy will have been guiding you deep into your unconscious whichever the outcome.

As the day is dawning, Mars will reach out to Pluto, supporting His day’s work. Pluto, known to many as the God of the Underworld, influences our deepest understandings of life and death and beyond. With the strength and assertive nature of Mars reinforcing His task, Pluto is likely to share His metamorphic energy with all of us today. Added to the unified forces of Pluto and Mars, the Moon Herself is in Her final waning phase, called by some “Hecate’s Sickle.”

Hecate statue_2 torchesHecate, according to legend, escorts those whose time it is to make their entrance into the other side, torches in hand showing the way, Her head turned toward the one entering, a welcoming guide. The Moon makes no major astrological contact with any of Her other companions today. The combined wisdom of these three, Pluto, Mars and Mother Moon, is all that is needed to draw our thoughts to the realms of mortality and immortality. Be sure to make use of these compelling and revealing powers.

You may find your dreams emotionally charged overnight into Friday (1 November). Pluto squares off with the Moon, and Uranus stands in opposition to Her. Various visceral dream time expressions of these contacts may effect you. You may remember an impulse to change something, a basic feeling of high energy and desire to go, do, jump. Within the same dream span, you may experience intense bursts of typically withheld emotions; they become compulsive feelings during dream time. It is best to ponder these when you awaken. Often dreams have valid underlying themes. Perhaps the Moon, Pluto and Uranus have opened a path to discovery for you.

Uranus and Pluto themselves square off in the early morning today. This configuration of these two outer planets is likely to be felt in many venues, in many ways, by many people. Disruption, dissolution and devastation are among the possible expressions. Look out for it on local, national and international levels. A Mercury, still in retrograde, and Mars connection has a proactive, stimulating influence. Some effort will be put forth to work through things without allowing worst case scenarios.

Tonight Jupiter steps up and Mother Moon is filled with optimism. This philosophical positive thinking is mostly a good thing. Yet, you could become overly sure of the wisdom of your words, causing those around you to prefer not to hear them. Share, but keep it short and concise. In the morning (2 November), as the Libran Moon takes some quality time with Venus, a sense of contentment prevails. The Moon, thus conditioned, then takes several hours of journey on Her own. It may be an advantageous time for you to do the same.

When mid-day the Moon enters Scorpio, you can expect your feelings, and those of the folks around you, to be effected. Some, depending on their own natal configurations, will be more and some less effected, but all will feel a difference. If the depth or intensity of your feelings overwhelms you, know that Scorpio influences the Moon similarly. Intense emotions have their roots somewhere, perhaps finding that place is important for you.

This evening the Moon’s visit with Neptune will create energy combinations that may further influence your emotional attitude. To sometimes immerse yourself in the emotional knowledge Mother Moon offers allows emotional growth and development. Perhaps this is an opportunity for you to seize. Tomorrow (3 November), or we could say overnight tonight, the Moon reaches Her Darkest time, and then as the morning progresses, Her New phase begins. In other words, this is the time for you to make your deepest journey inward for discovery and development of your Self; for the next step is yet another new beginning.

October New Moon in Libra

Overnight into Thursday (3 October) the Moon and Jupiter find time to share. You may find your dreams take an unexpected turn, revealing inner thoughts or broader ideas than you had considered previously. As the day progresses, those thoughts may take shape in creative expressions as the Moon contacts Venus and Her influence effects you. The Moon will take time to ponder Her last few visits as She is nearly at the most inward reflective point of Her journey and has been given much to work with.

Late tonight She enters Libra. Here She is focused on Her relationships, as you may feel yourself inclined to be. If you have been at odds with someone dear, or harmony has been difficult to achieve, now is a good time to seek the balance you desire. Likewise, as the New Moon will be in Libra, your inward journey may be laced with the joys of the beauty surrounding you and appreciation of it.

Friday (4 October) is the day of the Moon’s final waning. If you are able to spend time in meditation and reflection -  the real work of inner development, today is an optimum day to do so.  Do not be surprised if ideas of resolution and completion come to you, also possibilities for where to go from there. The Moon meets with Pluto today, and although their approaches may clash, their objectives are enough alike to provide the insight you seek. Uranus will have His say as well, leading your options in more radical directions. Mother Moon will be doing Her part to rein in the most outrageous of these, you need only follow Her good direction as you find it within yourself.

NM_Libra_symbolAt 8:35 PM EDT the Moon will take Her astrologically  closest position to the Sun, and thereby She will enter Her New phase. Now is the perfect time to begin anew with the next phase of your own journey. If harmony has eluded you, under this New Moon may be the moment of a harmonious fresh start.

She is waxing now, and as She makes an early morning (Saturday, 5 October) visit with Jupiter you may feel the two forces joining within yourself. While they may not have instant agreement, their energies combine to allow greater potential for the outcome you seek in your personal and professional relationships.

With these two acting in unison, and with the approaching upbeat meeting of the Moon and Mars, today will be a great day to maximize whatever you do – work or play – either will be invigorating and successful. On leaving the company of Mars, Mother Moon will head for a path of solitude. You may also be inclined to take time to contemplate the dynamics of the day’s events.

Very early Sunday morning (6 October) the Moon enters Scorpio and the intensity of Her waxing is magnified. As She spends the morning in the kind company of Neptune, She may struggle for clarity. Likewise, your morning may be a blur of mixed feelings and intense emotions. Or, depending on your own natal chart aspects, you may find crystal clarity. Beware of the depth of emotion possible when the Moon is in this sign.

This evening She meets Mercury, also traveling here in Scorpio. Within a few minutes, She makes friendly contact with Pluto as well. These two are in the midst of their own tête-à-tête making their influence on Mother Moon all the more strong. You may experience some unexpected communication of an extreme nature. If a conversation, a notification or an announcement takes you by surprise, remember these three companions of the sky are closely linked. Their liaison implies no necessary harm, but their combination may catch you off guard in some way.

Last thing tonight the Moon is in intimate contact with Saturn. His energy can sooth Mother Moon when She is in need of settling, or it can squash Her enthusiasm when She least needs it. Seek the nature of Her energy which best supports you this evening. If the day has you rattled, allow Her to channel Saturn’s strong ability for setting limits. If you are enjoying exploring the liminal regions of your space, seek Her strength in keeping Saturn’s dower notions to Himself.

Monday (7 October), after the busy-ness of Sunday may present itself as a more calm day. Yet, Mother Moon’s energy is building, She is still making Her way through Scorpio and today She makes contact with Jupiter. His upbeat nature is a boon, and yet it can promote overzealous behavior, too. Take today with consideration; enjoy it, but do not take it for granted. If you have lots of great ideas, jot them down, look at them in a day or two and mull them over. Look before you leap.

Overnight, as Tuesday (8 October) begins, the Moon and Mars will question each others intentions. You may find yourself doing the same in your dreams. Deep emotions may be stirred by a need to be expressed, acted out or applied to an existing situation. The Moon chooses to walk away and mull things over in solitude, as you are doing as you sleep. In the morning the Moon moves into Sagittarius. Her conclusions, and likely yours, will be wise and insightful. Allow yourself to listen to these inner assurances, even if you are not entirely certain of their origins.

Mid-morning finds Mother Moon spending time in an intimate visit with Venus. These two often combine their energies in realms of love and relationship. When together they also encourage our sense of beauty, aesthetics, artistic expression and appreciation. You may find your morning going in any of these directions, depending on your own natal positions. As the afternoon progresses, the Moon and Neptune have a testy interaction and your choices regarding the best path forward may be muddled. If you feel things are too murky to make sense of, stop trying to.

Only as Mercury joins Saturn later might you notice some clarity emerging, or at least an ability to ask the questions that enable it to. Unless your personal chart guides Neptune differently, in which case you may find clarity and then the crystal clarity to create plans which may result in well planned action. Remember, this is the time of the Moon’s waxing, implementing plans is well done over this next week or so.

The Moon’s path next brings Her to an amicable encounter with Uranus. His nature always urges change, the sooner the better. Because their contact will be in the very early hours (Wednesday, 9 October), these urges may permeate your dreams, but may linger as you awaken. Go ahead and capture this radical energy, organize your way forward – if the direction is new, best to make preparations now. In the middle of the day, the Sun steps up to empower Mother Moon on Her journey. His reaching out to Her is a boon to you as well. If you feel a surge of self-confidence, or strength in your striding forward, you have felt the same influence as the Moon.

Thursday (10 October) begins with an equally empowering boost as the Moon makes a friendly early morning alliance with Mars. Her path is then solitary until She enters Capricorn near mid-day. You may feel likewise energized to proceed, but prefer to pursue your goals on your own. In Capricorn, the Moon focuses full tilt on the developing plan; you can benefit from this focused energy applied similarly.

As evening approaches, Neptune draws near enough to the Moon astrologically to make a playful visit. It is not a bad idea to dream a little, fantasize a bit or take a break from the seriousness of the past day or two. Enjoy your evening and prepare for the challenges you may face during dream time tonight.

The very early hours of Friday (11 October), while you are still dreaming, the Moon will make Her closest approach to Pluto and not very long after, She will square off with Uranus. These are energies of transformation and transition. She will gain insight regarding what is to come to an end, what is to begin and what struggles these changes may bring. Perhaps hints, or glimpses or indications will come through your dreams on the same theme for your future.

Saturn and Mercury will step up to support Mother Moon’s sorting through this new insight. Think of them, their natural tendency to support existing means, thoughtful communication and business-like procedures and you will have a few keys to working through whatever presents itself during your morning.

With all the concentration you have placed on plans and future developments, your relationships may have been neglected. This evening, the Sun in Libra will challenge the Moon to remember these important areas of life as well, and to put some energy back into them.

Jupiter also is present. His contribution reminds the Moon to seek balance within all that She is attending. Jupiter’s energy can cause us to feel able to do everything we need to because He is magnanimous and ever increasing. We must take heed of the message of balance, rather than allowing ourselves to become overburdened and then overwhelmed.

The Moon enters a long period of solitude after Her reminder via Jupiter. You may feel inclined to do likewise. In any case, it will not be the best time to start anything grand or complex, although it is not a bad time to take care of some of the mundane details of your household duties. Saturday (12 October) the Moon enters Aquarius and Her influence will draw us in completely different directions.

This afternoon the Moon’s basis will shift as She moves into Aquarius. While much depends on your own Moon and planetary positions, the influence in this sign tends to encourage our wild thoughts, dreams and actions. If you have been wishing to go out on a limb, or try something entirely different, today and the next few days are made for putting those ideas into action. An overnight interaction with Venus may combine influences to sway the Moon’s energy in the realm of love, aesthetics or wealth. Surely as you awaken on Sunday morning (13 October) your inclinations, further fired up by Uranus now in contact with the Moon, will have you leaping out of bed to jump into what pulls you toward it – something new, something exciting or something that feels like it will get you off the beaten path you are bored with.

Later in the morning Saturn will challenge Mother Moon to rein in Her energy a bit, change is good, but too fast or too furiously can bring on undesirable results. If you have a flash of common sense, or an insight regarding certain boundaries that may be best to implement, thank Saturn and go on. Similarly, late this afternoon, Mercury makes His own challenge to the Moon. Perhaps there will be those asking you to explain your actions, or urging you to make sure you have thought through the actions you are intent on taking. It cannot hurt to listen. Such advice is well meant, and often the reality check that is needed.

Once again, overnight (moving into Monday, 14 October) interactions will influence the Moon’s current energy flow as the Sun seeks to persuade Her. He is in Libra and counsels harmony and balance in all things. Thus your dreams may reflect a search for these within the plans for change that you have made. Later in the day, Mars also steps in with a similar message. Yet Mars is one for action and going forward; you may find His presence provides a boost, or spurt of forward movement that will enable you to see things through.

It has been a dynamic time for the Moon. She takes only the briefest of pauses this evening before moving into Pisces where She knows a restive way of being awaits. She is waxing, and in the most fundamental way, Her energy is building as She makes Her way through the zodiac. Yet in Pisces She persuades us to rest our minds and allow our spirit to be nurtured. If you have not already succumbed to this feeling, by later tonight it is likely inevitable. The Moon’s astrological path brings Her as close to Neptune as ever She moves and His power of persuasion here in his domicile is irresistible. It is a wonderful night for deep meditation, lucid dreaming, or just sound restful sleeping.

Tuesday morning (15 October) first thing, the Moon will square off with Venus and you may sense some turmoil in an otherwise strong preference to just “chill.” Perhaps there is something or someone in need of your loving attention, it is a small thing to check. As the Moon moves through Her morning, She has a sweet encounter with Pluto. We know His visit may be sweet, but His message tends to linger, putting your mind on the big, abstract questions of life.

Mid-day, Mother Moon makes contact with Saturn, accepting His cautions with the calm and peaceful attitude imbued by Her Piscean journey. You, too may hear dire predictions, or strict words of advice that are easier to digest with the Moon’s influence in the state it is today. Late tonight, when the Moon also contacts Mercury, mental flashes of insight, or short bursts of fluid conversation may come to you. He struts His most amiable self now, but be forewarned – astrologically, His slow down and move into retrograde begins here…

So if Wednesday (16 October) feels a little lazy and you would rather hang back, wait and see and not rush into anything, this is Mother Moon’s wise course and counsel. These are the days to begin reviewing and reminiscing, rather than starting anything new. Tonight She will enter Aries, and you may have an urge to go in a new direction. Do your best to channel that dynamic toward a project you already have underway. Mars has recently entered Virgo; His influence on Aries may be helpful in sticking to the task before you, albeit with plenty of vigor, depending on His sway in your own natal chart.

With the Moon soon at Her fullest and in Aries, Thursday (17 October) stands to be an emotionally charged day. Mid-day or so the Moon and Pluto are in contention, perhaps beginnings and endings are running together, feeling out of order and threatening to overwhelm you. The Moon finds solace in the liberating energy of Uranus later this afternoon. It would not be a bad thing to let it sweep you along as well. Sometimes a foray into the realm of risk brings great reward. A little later, Venus encourages Mother Moon to stop and smell the roses. It is a great time to enjoy a moment of pleasure, share an affectionate moment with a friend or immerse yourself in some aesthetic indulgence.

The Moon reaches Her Fullness on 18 October, Friday of this week. She will begin Her day with a testy visit to Jupiter; you may likewise sense your day beginning on an off note. If the exact truth of things eludes you, or if rational explanations fail you, file that thought and move on. Make no important decisions; they can wait. As the day progresses, the Sun and Moon seeking their own balance, may bring things into balance for you and clarity could result. Mother Moon is Full in Aries here in Bradenton at 7:38 PM EDT tonight.

Next Edition coming this week: Full Moon in Aries!

September Full Moon Edition

FM_Pisces_MermaidDuring the day Wednesday (18 September), the Moon has a quiet journey, making only minimal contact with Her companions of the sky. You have been watching Her wax and brighten and tonight She will appear at Her maximum luminescence. It is this culmination on Thursday morning (19 September, 7:13 AM EDT) of Her reaching Her absolute Fullness that has propelled Her over these past two weeks. Her energy abounds. It is for you, for us, for all to be empowered – feel its deep healing, a hug from The Mother.

As She is reaching Her moment of absolute Fullness, the Moon will be setting (7:22 AM EDT) and the Sun will be rising (7:18 AM EDT). It is just 3 days before the Autumnal Equinox and the balance of Sun and Moon rising and setting is reflecting today’s opposition of the Sun and the Moon while also mirroring the day and night balance the Equinox signifies. It is a glorious time to be in tune with the cycles of the celestial bodies!

This Moon in Pisces will continue for a few hours, although She will be in a restful phase of Her journey until She enters Aries in the middle of the day. While in Pisces She has encouraged our most compassionate, sensitive and meditative side; in Aries Her attitude changes. Here She reminds us to stand up for ourselves, take on the world full force and delve into whatever path or project has been beckoning. The rest of Thursday will likely find you responding to Her urging.

On Friday (20 September) in the very early hours of the morning, the Moon will find Herself in contention with Pluto. Their attempts to tread a shared path may prove difficult. Depending on your own natal configurations, your waking dreams may be filled with snippets of knowledge worth struggling to retrieve, or feelings of an important beginning about to be launched.  A few hours later, the Moon will make a very intimate call on Uranus. Their influence on your own thoughts and feelings could be liberating.

It will be a busy afternoon and evening for Mother Moon as She makes a friendly visit to Mars whose strong connection to Her Arian energy may energize your afternoon as well. Her visit with Jupiter is a bit testy, and you too may feel it. If there is something or someone tempting you to indulge beyond the limit you know is best for yourself, you may be experiencing Jupiter’s similar influence on the Moon. Be strong, maintain your self-control, find your prudence.

Finally, Her day will end with a long distance nod to Mercury. In this configuration, you may feel the tease, or the prankster in you surfacing. It is one of Mercury’s alter egos, too and the face He is showing the Moon tonight. Jokes and pranks have their place, but be sure to weigh your decision carefully. The Moon will embark on almost twenty-four hours of secluded travel after Her encounter with Mercury. Be wary of saying or doing anything that will cause you to wish you could do the same.

Having exercised prudence and thoughtfulness in your choices yesterday, Saturday (21 September) can be a productive, energetic day that flows smoothly and feels gratifying. This evening as the Moon makes Her way into Taurus you may rejoice in the day, knowing that all that you begin tonight and tomorrow is likely to have solid foundation and enduring presence. The Moon in Taurus is basking in such energy and you may feel its empowering flow.

On Sunday (22 September) the Moon will make Her Equinox greetings to several of Her sky companions. Starting overnight, perhaps you will notice Her time spent in friendly contemplation with Neptune. With luck your dreams will be filled with the stalwart Taurean energy She is carrying along with the sweet dreamy caress of Neptune’s touch.

As mid-day approaches, Mother Moon will greet Pluto whose transformative nature may stimulate your pondering an end or a new beginning, or understanding the need for one to make your way to the other. Within minutes, Saturn vies for the Moon’s attention. Perhaps His wise counsel is for you as well. He speaks always of abiding by the boundaries and limits you know surround you. It always pays to consider such advice, taken or not.

This evening (4:44:08 PM EDT), hours before He sets, the Sun will enter Libra. It is at this moment of 00̊ Libra 0′ that the Autumnal Equinox occurs. The Moon will reflect His Libran light for much of the night (Moon rise 9:38 PM EDT, set 11:14 AM tomorrow) as She continues on Her path in Taurus. As the sky darkens, and before She rises, She will make contact with Venus. This combination may influence you. Venus rules Taurus and She is currently in Scorpio. She will have sway with Mother Moon whose passions will be stirred. You may experience strong emotions this evening as well. Is it any wonder?!

Overnight the Moon will come square into the dynamic grip of Mars. Here She will be coerced and cajoled. It would not be surprising if your dreams are active, aggressive even. Perhaps your Yin and Yang find fertile ground for a serious discussion. If you have been trying to ignore a question that really should be answered, this may be the night your dreams do their part on it. Jupiter will add His wise perspective and practical solutions may surface.

With so much overnight activity, Mother Moon chooses a solitary path on Monday (23 September) spending the remainder of Her time in Taurus keeping to Herself. This is a perfect day for tidying up the home front, setting the bills in order or catching up on any of life’s basic duties. You may seek an early bedtime; it just feels like the common sense thing to do.

In the very early hours of Tuesday morning (24 September), the Moon enters Gemini. Luckily for you, it was a long night and you are well rested because the Moon in Gemini loves to be sociable and is starting Her day with a cheery visit with the Sun. By mid-morning when Mother Moon meets Neptune in Her travels, She is wide open to His fantastic ideas for the coming days. Do not be surprised if Wednesday (25 September) finds you in the mood for sharing, sharing, sharing your most radical thoughts, trendy ideas and assertive notions.

As Thursday (26 September ) dawns, the Moon and Mercury are in contact. This may be a beneficial energy for your communicating with those closest to you. It may feel right to say what you desire and glide into a quiet time, for all to sit with the thoughts and feelings you have shared. Following Mother Moon’s lead, today would be just right for such contemplation. Late this afternoon, the Moon arrives in Her home sign of Cancer. She is always at Her most comfortable here, and you may notice your own inclination to allow your nurturing side to emerge. Much depends on your own natal configurations, of course, but this is the Moon’s strong influence on us all.

Tonight She will sit in friendly interaction with Neptune, who is also in His home, in Pisces. It will be a deep dream time tonight. Prepare yourself to remember the wisdom which may be revealed and keep a journal nearby for when you awake. The Moon will also stand square to the Sun later which could influence the tone of your dreams. Sun and Moon are working together to provide insight you need, but as always, they each have quite a different approach. You may feel the tug of head versus heart as you awaken and begin the analysis of your dreams, one of our eternal human struggles.

Now fully in Her third quarter, and waning, the Moon steps into opposition with Pluto on Friday morning (27 September). Their attempts to see eye-to-eye should not be contentious, although your own configurations could swing it in that direction. Rather, you can expect a nudging from a deep place within yourself urging you to take the necessary steps – that you may have been putting off – on your path of evolution.

Saturn will make contact with the Moon soon after. His strength in establishing boundaries and limits and fostering the discipline to respect them is His boon to us. If transformative energy is overwhelming you, look to His sturdy scaffolding for support. Likewise, as Uranus slides into Mother Moon’s travels, a challenge to break free is presented. The Moon will strive to find a means to incorporate this wild energy, yet survive and move forward. Your task is the same.

Once again, the Moon’s overnight contacts, providing mind expanding possibilities and the desire to achieve that which pleases aesthetically, may find definition in your waking thoughts, or even the direction you may choose for today (Saturday, 28 September). Especially if you are strongly influenced by Venus and/or Jupiter this energy could empower you. Take heed as well, because Venus and Mars are in step. Their combined intentions today create a dynamic to take seriously and with due consideration.

Sunday (29 September) in the very early morning hours, after a somewhat bristling exchange with Mercury the Moon takes a very brief moment to compose Herself before entering Leo. Hopefully this energy will rise and dissipate as you sleep, causing at worst a ripple of miscommunication, or plans gone awry in your dreams. Mercury finds His way into Scorpio this morning, effecting the tenor and tone of our communication. If Scorpionic energies predominate your chart, this will be a time to beware of the emotional  sting you so easily invoke. It is a fair warning to all of us with Mercury in this sign.

The Moon in Leo, as She wanes will bring out our creative energies, but also our need for appreciation and approval. On the deepest levels we will feel the threat of our inadequacies. Yet it is a Moon who loves to entertain, to sing, to dance and to make merry. This evening, as the Sun and Moon come into amicable contact, may be a wonderful time for a small gathering, a game of Charades or Pictionary for the mutual entertainment of all. Just remember to keep it light!

As you prepare for bed, Saturn’s serious perspective will be entering the field of Mother Moon’s path. Yes, it is the end of the weekend, yes you must make your preparations for the coming work week; you will feel His nudge to do the expected and the proscribed. During dream time, however, the Moon will make friendly contact with Uranus. The Moon is stirred by His stories of freedom and abandon, your dreams may be also.

Monday (30 September) the Moon keeps to Herself for the most part, until late tonight when She makes very close contact with Mars. His energy is motivating and assertive. The Moon is empowered, and so might you be, by His boost of encouragement. This is the week of the Moon’s final waning for this cycle, by Friday evening She will be New once again. This boost may be the beginning of your deep journey inward.

Overnight the Moon squares off with Venus, their goals in tandem, yet a push-pull effect. This hard course leads the Moon to several hours of rest. This afternoon (1 October) She enters Virgo where She can become overwhelmed in details. If you feel this sensation creeping in, know that it is part of the natural way of things, sort through the nature of that which is overwhelming and seek the organizing energy of the Moon in Virgo to support you.

Tonight, in close succession, the Moon finds Herself in a balancing act with Neptune and a sweet visit with Mercury. There may be some routine tasks, or even pleasures, that will be easily taken care of now. Perhaps some phone calls or letters to loved ones are due. Perhaps it is a time to share your hopes and dreams.

The Moon makes a friendly visit to Pluto first thing Wednesday morning (2 October). Depending on your personal natal configurations and the strength of Pluto at this time for you, His influence on the Moon may put your day on track for the culmination, or fresh start that has been in the works. Saturn will follow up a little later with Mother Moon, putting a formal finish, or official starting point on things.

At 8:35 PM EDT the Moon will take Her astrologically  closest position to the Sun, and She will enter Her New phase. Now is the time to begin anew with the next phase of your own journey.

September New Moon Edition

newmoonvirgorbThursday (5 September) the Sun will rise at 7:00 AM EDT, the Moon will rise sixteen minutes later and the Moon will reach Her New Phase minutes after, at 7:36 AM EDT. Once again we have a golden opportunity to begin anew with the Moon in Virgo where She reminds us of duty and the satisfaction of making good on those kinds of obligations. With Jupiter adding His sway from the Moon’s own home of Cancer, you may find this day urging you to get into that Fall cleaning you have been pondering, or putting off. It is a day for scheduling, attending to

details and fulfilling your desire to feel truly helpful.

The Moon will begin Her day Friday (6 September) making close contact with Mercury. He is coddled here in Virgo and their visit may inspire you and empower a conversation you have been wanting to have, or a deal you have felt was worth making. Do it early. For Mother Moon makes Her way into that solitary path of no contact with Her companions immediately after Her time with Mercury. If you feel finding your way on your own is most pleasing to you, follow your instincts.

Late this afternoon the Moon will make Her way into Libra where Her inclinations turn to relationships. Here She seeks harmony and balance above all else. If you feel a craving for the same, She is influencing your values and choices. Or perhaps you have a yen today to pick up a little something special for your home. In Libra, She may effect you in that way.

These are the attitudes you will carry forward into the weekend. Saturday (7 September) will be a busy one for Mother Moon and you may feel the “get going” nudge of Mars very early in the morning followed by a pretty tough, emotional ride through the day. You may feel Pluto’s pushing and pulling on the Moon, making it hard to decide what direction to take. Uranus’ advice is always for the new way, the different way, and to do it right now. Mother Moon will do Her best to aid your deciphering if such advice may be right for you, or whether you may need to talk yourself down from His zealous enthusiasm. Jupiter steps up to the Moon in the evening. He may bring the relief you have been hoping for, especially if it is romance you desire to pursue. Saturday night may work out for you in that way.

If Saturday night has taken you on the path of romance, you may appreciate the Moon’s intimate call on Venus first thing Sunday morning (8 September). Enjoy a peaceful day of rest, relaxation and romance if it is offered. The moon will be taking Her time to assure an uninterrupted flow of energy for just such a day. Her transition into Scorpio will only further enhance the intensity of your romantic endeavors, let it be so. Only beware the possibility of suspicion creeping in and threatening to misplace your extreme level of emotion.

In the very early hours of Monday morning (9 September), Mercury will enter Libra, perhaps allowing your relational communication to improve, to feel less challenging or more easygoing. With the Moon and Neptune sharing a dream time visit soon after, you may awake with a sense that an important message has been imparted. Spend a little time retrieving it and write it down; you are likely to find it worthwhile.

The Moon’s next encounter will be with Saturn, a close contact and one that has great potential to provoke unexpected emotions. Hang on. Mars will be asserting Himself as well, leading to the possibility that these emotions will be more loudly, strongly or demonstratively expressed than is the usual. Later in the afternoon, Pluto makes a friendly approach to Mother Moon. Perhaps there is an end result in the earlier emotional turmoil that brings a valuable, or even pleasant renewal.

Give yourself the rest of the day to ponder and work through the changes. Not until after midnight will Mother Moon make any new contact of consequence. On Tuesday (10 September) when She does reach out, it will be to Jupiter and their shared moment will be a joyous one. You may feel comforted in your dreams, at home and at peace. The blessing of an insight or revelation could be woven into your dreams.

The Sun and Moon will share an early morning tryst, and as if His bright touch is a bit overwhelming, the Moon will take respite in proceeding on Her path alone for some hours following. Depending on your Sun position, His visit may be empowering or overpowering, clarifying some feeling you wish to, or obscuring it further.Waxing Crescent

The Moon is waxing; Diana’s Bow is with us. You may feel the energy gathering, a sense of urgency to move forward. Wednesday (11 September) in the early morning hours of still darkness, Venus will enter Scorpio and moments later the Moon will enter Sagittarius. While in Scorpio, Venus energy surrounding relationships, emotional involvements of any kind, even aesthetic choices may be tumultuous. Intensity is Scorpio’s forté, so prepare yourself.

At the same time, the Moon’s time in Sagittarius enables your ability to forgive and to maintain your optimism. Look to Mother Moon for Her wisdom in these times of emotional struggle. As the morning progresses, She will make contact with Neptune, whose propensity is to blur your vision; but soon after, a friendly visit with Mercury may help to clear the thought processes.

The evening and night bring the Moon calling on Mars who encourages Her to defend Herself when need be, good advice if it fits your situation as well. Also, an encounter with Uranus who ever stands in support of independence and individuality. Stand strong, as Mother Moon would, in the face of questions which may incur self-doubt.

Thursday (12 September) the Moon’s energizing  phase is carrying Her forward with no looks backward. You may feel the push – “just do it!” Make it a busy day, there is much which can be accomplished. Friday (13 September) after Her setting, but before Sunrise, the Moon enters Capricorn. Influences here are toward the serious side of all things. It is time to recognize responsibility, obligation, commitments and all kinds of practical considerations. If you are a Sun in Capricorn individual, this Moon could be more strongly felt by you than others.

The Moon’s day is busy and entails a rapid succession of visits throughout. As She spends time with Venus, the reminder is to honor responsibilities to those we love. Neptune stands before Mother Moon to encourage following dreams – an obligation of a different sort, lest in Capricorn She be tempted to abandon them. Mercury wishes to work with the Moon in communication within relationships, yet His energy may be frictional, abrasive. Tread carefully in the evening hours if conversation becomes very deep.

As the day winds down, the Moon will make contact with Saturn. Her Capricorn influenced frame of reference will make their visit quite easy-going, yet one must not allow any overly intense sense of duty at the sacrifice of one’s own well being to be launched. This could become an issue as the Moon’s contact with Pluto, who urges endings, albeit for transformative purposes, is very intimate. Your own natal configurations could contribute to the intensity of these configurations.

As Saturday (14 September) begins, not long after midnight, the Moon will be invited by Uranus to work together toward some goal of a unique nature (as is His nature!).  Take these thoughts to bed. In dream space may be the best way to allow Mother Moon to aid your sifting through them. Later in the Morning, Jupiter will attempt to step in and create balance in the Moon’s perspective. Sometimes His sense of balance is a bit skewed, as He is the King of indulgence and generosity. Allow Mother Moon’s generally conservative nature in Capricorn guide you.

By Saturday evening, when the Moon makes a very enlightening visit with the Sun (remember He is in Virgo, so their affect is well aligned), you may feel Her relief at entering a void of course time. Overnight She will be on Her own, preparing for Her next shift into the Sign of Aquarius.

Sunday morning (15 September), She does just that and the staid mantle of Capricorn is cast aside for the sheer joy of freedom felt in the Aquarian path. It is no wonder that Her two visits today may cause Her some consternation. They come later in the day, however, so you, as does She, have time to enjoy these feelings of self-exploration. Realize that as She approaches a contentious visit with Venus, you may find yourself in some similar flow of disagreeable energy with a loved one. Later, Saturn puts His foot down, but Mother Moon has been in His grip for days, traveling through Capricorn, She may influence your strong will to ignore boundaries, limits, or plain good sense. Forewarned is forearmed.

Overnight moving into Monday (16 September) the Moon will join a configuration with Uranus and Mercury that we can be grateful most of us will sleep through. Yet, your dreams may be influenced, so best to know its energy. If your dreams are vivid, and likely they will be of change, a new deal, a new arrangement, along those lines; do write it down and/or talk to someone about it. This could be an invitation or a hint that will yield a solution beneficial to folks beyond your immediate circle.

A few hours later, the Moon will find Herself in a balancing act with Mars. Perhaps there will be an urge to apply the newly received insight. Weigh it carefully, Mars energy needs judicious handling. The Moon’s response will be to take the day on Her own to ruminate. You may find this approach works well for you, too. She puts all on hold until Tuesday morning (17 September) when She enters Pisces.

Here She is in an easy going, dreamy place. No need for urgency or to be overly concerned with the mundane. As She does, you must journey onward. Easy going, but still going. Meditation is well rewarded during this time. Listen to your intuition, it is stronger here than in many signs. Later in the afternoon, your inclination may turn to art, a gallery visit, or creating some. The Moon spends an intimate visit with Neptune while She is in His realm of Pisces, and She is on Her way to connect with Venus.

Just past midnight (Wednesday, 18 September) the Moon nods to Saturn, a friendly gesture, but in dream time, not likely one with much influence on Her Piscean attitude of escape and following Her dreams. Shortly after, She will make contact with Pluto. The serious ones are lining up to remind Her to keep Her footing, as we all must; to stay tethered to reality, for it is our actual home place when we have physical form. Jupiter waves to Mother Moon from His position, Her home in Cancer, perhaps His message from there supports the reminder to maintain Her attachments while ever moving forward.

During the day Wednesday, the Moon has a quiet journey, making only minimal contact with Her companions of the sky. It is for you, for us for all to be empowered  – feel its deep healing, a hug from The Mother.

August Full Moon Edition

FM in Aqu_symb surround_thCA03673M

Tonight (19 August), the Moon will receive Uranus once more before Her absolute Fullness. Their combined power is so great; you may yearn to be productive in some way. Be sure to suit yourself and remember that tomorrow night (20 August, 9:45 PM EDT) is the Full Moon. Make plans to celebrate Her, enjoy Her and receive the benefit of Her power.

Today, Tuesday (20 August), it is the night of the Full Moon in Aquarius. She will rise here in Bradenton at 7:40 PM EDT. It will be one of those evening twilight times when the Sun is setting (8:03 PM EDT) as the Moon is rising. Once the Sun drops below our horizon, what a beautiful powerful Moon, Full and bedazzling!

Before reaching Her Fullest, Mother Moon greets Mercury across the sky. Their visit strikes a balance of Her emotional core and Mercury’s desire to relate, expressing a note of creative exuberance. Perhaps you feel similar impulses as the afternoon progresses. In Aquarius the Moon yearns to show Her unique qualities. Feel free to allow yourself the same indulgence. Be sure not to overwhelm those around you with your rebellious challenges, and be open to theirs.

Wednesday (21 August), the Moon at midnight will appear Full and brilliant as ever, yet Her course never stops and She will progress into Pisces. Just before Her setting (7:35 AM EDT) this morning, the Moon will greet Neptune. The Moon in Pisces connecting with Neptune may induce you to oversleep, preferring to stay in the dream world for just a little longer. Even awake, allusions may prevail. Some of us are more susceptible to the Moon and Her ally Neptune. In this configuration, many of us will feel their enticement to venture beyond the concrete realities of day-to-day life.

Later this morning, Saturn will approach the Moon, drawing Her gently back to the structured reality we all must face. By late afternoon, with Pluto making a friendly, but naturally serious call to Her; Mother Moon will realize the cycle’s natural way. It ends and it begins, it begins and it ends. It is an observation that may be brought to your attention as well today. Jupiter will offer His joyous support to the Moon tonight. Allow yourself to bask in the glow of the Moon’s comfort as She accepts Jupiter’s generosity, you may do the same.

Thursday (22 August) the Sun is to be remarked upon. Today He moves into Virgo at 7:02 PM EDT. The Moon’s waning has begun we know, yet Her brilliance is lingering. Enjoy Her tonight as She visits Mars and immediately slips into a quiet time of contemplation.  Depending on the position of Mars in your own natal configurations, their visit may be a trying time for you. Be warned, and know that the time of the Moon’s contemplative energy may allow you the grace to think first, act later.

Friday (23 August) in the very early hours the Moon will enter Aries. If you awake feeling especially enthused about getting started, anxious to do that thing you have been promising yourself to do, you may be experiencing the same vitality the Moon does in Aries. Go for it! This evening, the Moon and Venus will vie for attention. When they are in competition this way, it can be disconcerting. Yet, our feeling out of sorts may be quickly remedied. Mercury is moving into Virgo at nearly the same time. In Virgo, Mercury is at home and deeply honored. Especially if you have close connections to Mercury or Virgo, you may feel strengthened in your own resolve to reaffirm an important relationship, or reconnect with a lost friend or relative.

The Moon will encounter Pluto a short time later. Pluto can jolt our well planned movement forward. The Moon’s energy may come filtered through a veil of self-doubt which may cause the need for transformative action. Saturday (24 August) the Moon will seek Uranus whose ability to induce the needed change with speed will be welcomed. As these events are happening overnight, Jupiter will approach the Moon as well. Somewhat at odds and yet expected to show a pleasant face, feelings may run to the indulgent. Dreams may run to the restless and exhausting.

Saturday morning will bring the dynamic interaction of Venus and Pluto. Remember that change is not always easy, but it is the most certain event in life. Change that whisks away the old to open the way for the new may be in today’s agenda. Welcome it and look forward to the developing relationships ahead. Merging Virgo Sun and Mercury may even entice you to make the first, well planned connection.

After a brief connection with Mars the Moon will move into a restful time early Sunday (25 August). While your early hours may reflect the Moon’s spark of enthusiasm offered by Mars, you may be inclined to follow Her retiring energy until later in the morning. Once She enters Taurus, the optimum time for getting started will be upon you. The Moon’s day of visits, all friendly and empowering will likely find you accomplishing what you intend. If you have been waiting for a good moment to write, compose or make a great deal, this is it!

As the night asserts itself, Saturn will rear His cautioning head. Mother Moon will take it in stride, as should you. Self-discipline is always a seeking of balance in individual choices and that is the best approach now. Overnight the Moon will find support from Pluto whose directions are always to fear not the endings and to look forward to the new beginnings they promise. Monday morning (26 August) Mother Moon is jovial and Her attitude may infect you. If mid-day there is a crisis in the stability of a relationship you have been nurturing, best to work through it.

Early Tuesday morning (27 August), before the Moon makes contact with any of Her companions, some of them will be making their own ripples. With the combined effect of these you may bolt out of bed realizing the importance of keeping a dream journal. Or, perhaps with a heart full of gratitude for life’s beauty and abundance and the urge to share these will fill you. Mother Moon is energized by Mars’s tendency to “just do it,” and you may be too. The Moon enters Gemini tonight where She is encouraged to express Her most gregarious nature. It is a grand time for friendship and socializing.

Wednesday (28 August) the Moon is halfway through Her waning and faces some challenges to Her journey. Her overnight path is one of uncertainty where She lacks clarity due to Her contact with Neptune. Later in the day, Mercury presents Her next challenge. These contacts may find you trying to figure something out in what feels like a haze and then almost reaching your solution, but feeling reluctant to commit. It may be for you, depending on your own natal configurations, like Mother Moon; the contact with Uranus will be welcome recourse to cast aside doubt and simply make a sudden decision or take an unexpected path.

The Moon seeks refuge in Her peaceful times of being out of touch with Her companions of the sky. Sometimes we need to be alone with ourselves and as the waning continues, you may find this to be evermore true for yourself. Thursday (29 August) after Her embrace with Venus, Mother Moon does just that. Throughout the night and day She extends no welcome outside Herself.

It is well for Her, and as She arrives Friday (30 August) in Her home sign of Cancer, you too may sigh with relief. Neptune and then Saturn will seek Her company. As always She will engage them. Late afternoon you may wish a nap were possible, “to sleep, perchance to dream.” As Friday evening progresses into night, the Moon’s time with Saturn may move you toward a more productive, structured approach to the coming weekend. The Sun in Virgo may have its influence upon Her and you as well; every detail may seem worth examining.

Once again the Moon’s overnight journey may have its impact on your dreamtime. She will be waltzing with Pluto and His lead is never simple or easy to follow. Neptune will step up to offer His own rhythm which may quiet your dreams. As your day begins on Saturday (31 August), Uranus will challenge the Moon to see the radical choices ahead. If your natal configurations align just so, you may feel the challenge, too.

Jupiter sidles up to Mother Moon mid-day and offers a strong dose of His benevolent energy. She must decide how best to apply it, as you must do. Keep in mind that Her next contact will be with Mercury. Perhaps Jupiter’s benevolence could be carried forward to enable Mercury’s spry energy for some important forward movement – a postponed phone call, letter or outreach. Best make your move before night falls. The Moon and Venus will be somewhat at odds tonight. Mother Moon will leave this uncomfortable situation, taking a deserved respite.

Sunday (1 September) is a perfect day for you to do the same. While the Moon is keeping Her distance, you may realize the value of doing the same. Stay in, chill out, regroup; enjoy the quietude. Tonight the Moon enters Leo. Appreciation is valued and even sought. Be sure to give it, as well as to seek it. Overnight She will gather Her energy in Mars’s company. You may feel that jolt of desire to get up and get on with it on Monday morning (2 September). You will be ready for what Saturn has in store. As always, His visit with Mother Moon will give Her cause to draw back Her enthusiasm, cast Her eyes downward to assure each footstep and move forward only with planning and respect for the rules of progress. This may be the theme for your day as well.

Yet, the Moon makes Her way constantly through the realm of Her companions, meeting, greeting and accepting the gifts of each. Uranus makes His offering this evening. If your perspective begins to loosen, your vision becomes a little more daring, thank Uranus. He offers you too the opportunity to make an unexpected, or unplanned movement.

Tuesday (3 September) with the Moon very near Her Dark Phase, She makes little contact with Her companions. Around mid-day She will make-up with Venus, enjoying Her pleasure in relationship and sharing the pleasantries of companionship. You may enjoy such a visit yourself, but be prepared to feel the need to journey on your own soon after. Mother Moon moves into a restful time, spending the afternoon and overnight out of touch. Only another day or so and the Moon reaches the maximum place of Her inward journey and She must make a few contacts before then.

Especially if the Moon’s journey is strong in your own natal configurations, you will feel the challenge of these last few visits and the move into Virgo that initiates them. First thing Wednesday morning (4 September) Her entry into Virgo may bring agendas, planning, detail and the vital importance of being prepared to your consciousness. In the early afternoon you may feel the bump of Neptune’s energy attempting to persuade you to loosen up, give it a rest; nothing needs to be that exacting.

It cannot hurt to do so. After all, Saturn will be coming along this evening and if you have gotten too far out of control, He is sure to rein you in. Tonight is the time to heed that advice, at least a little. It is a time for focusing inward, for self-examination and evaluation. Until tomorrow’s New Moon She will be at Her deepest inward place, Her Darkest phase. Pluto will arrive tonight just before midnight (EDT), adding His proclivity to lead us deep within.

Thursday (5 September) the Moon will reach Her New Phase. Once again we have a golden opportunity to begin anew…

August New Moon Edition

NM_Leo_stars_thThis New Moon Edition finds us basking in the double radiance of a Leo Sun and a Leo Moon. As the Moon continued Her path ever closer to Her conjunction with the Sun, She entered Leo on Monday (5 August) afternoon. Chances are good you will feel the inspiration of Leo’s energy, a dramatic flair may show itself, a desire to be admired may surface and a movie or the theater has never been more appealing.

Before reaching Her conjunction with the Sun this Tuesday evening (6 August), the Moon will make contact with Uranus. A spark of emotionalism wrapped in a need for freedom and a little bit of crazy, outside-the-box expression may be exhibited. You may observe it in patterns disrupted, or old habits questioned. Remember that this is the darkest time for the Moon, Her time of inward reflection. Much depends on your own natal astrological configurations, but few of us will totally escape the pull of Her journey.

“Our passage through the dark offers us the opportunity to heal [our] wounds, and in the process we can discover the hidden wealth of the unconscious. It is only by going into the dark time of inner space and coming to peace with our memories and resolving our issues that a way opens toward healing. In the process, we can discover the wealth of the underworld of the psyche, renewal, inspired creativity and merging with the soul of the cosmos” (Demetra George, Mysteries of the Dark Moon).

On Tuesday evening (5:50:59 PM EDT), as the Moon immerses Herself fully into the void, allow yourself the same; make it a time of meditation, deep discovery and healing. The Moon will make Her way on Her solitary path for about 18 hours. This is a perfect time for your ruminations. You should emerge energized to begin something new. Under the New Moon is always a great time for such endeavors.

Early Wednesday morning (7 August), the Sun will reach the exact midpoint of its journey through the sign of Leo. For some, this is the time to celebrate The First Harvest, also called Lughnasadh or Lammas. Give thanks for the Earth’s abundance, give back to your community in some way, and savor the beauty of the season.

Today, Jupiter and Pluto will also be aligning their energies, courting each other for balance. If you feel the desire to improve the world around you, to challenge the status quo, your attempts to accomplish this goal may be fueled by their interaction. There will be those who do not appreciate your enthusiasm for change. Avoid confrontation, contentiousness could easily result.

Moments before Wednesday gives over to Thursday (8 August), Mother Moon will make Her way into Virgo. If you awaken with a sense of all that must be done and every detail that must be tended, you are feeling the influence of the Moon’s new surroundings. Mother Moon will be busy today. First thing this morning Neptune will call to Her, urging that outside influences be heeded. Perhaps there is an alluring escape to be imagined…? You may notice such urges, as well.

Thursday morning will also be effected by Mercury’s entry into Leo. With Mercury in Leo, communication and thought patterns may swing toward the steady and even relentless side of the spectrum. You may find yourself more inclined than usual to say what you think and to stick by it, regardless of any disagreement from others.

By mid-morning, Saturn’s morose effect may be felt. His impact on Mother Moon may permeate you. Depending on His strength in your own natal chart, you may feel lonely, alienated, or just disconnected from your support network. Awareness of the astrological energy around you can make coping with it a bit easier.

This evening, the Moon is drawn to Pluto and to Jupiter. This team can be a boon. Mother Moon may aid your recalling that the true motivation for serving should be love, and the desire to share your talents may move you to seek those with whom you would execute your duties with heartfelt enthusiasm.

Friday morning (9 August) may present a challenge when the Moon makes contact with Mars. Mars is the initiator and coupled with the Moon’s deep emotional tendencies, a mix that becomes assertiveness taken as aggression, or childish behavior taken as thoughtlessness can be created. If you notice your emotions controlling your actions in ways you prefer not to observe in yourself, you may be under the Mars – Moon spell. Take a step back and try to think through what you are feeling before you go any further.

This evening, Mother Moon will seek the loving company of Venus. This visit should be soothing for Her and you. Reach out in a nurturing way to someone you love; also allow yourself to be nurtured. Love heals all wounds. Overnight the Moon will take Herself along the path alone, keeping to Herself in Her travels. You may wish to find peace in the same kind of journey.

Saturday (10 August) should be a day of gentleness. The Moon will enter Libra, emphasizing one-on-one relationships and our deepest emotional ties. She will also make a friendly connection with Mercury later in the day. If you feel inclined to reach out to that special someone, it will likely be for an evening of talking, sharing and relationship building of the most rewarding kind.

There will be turmoil in the Moon’s travels overnight and into Sunday (11 August). Do you know the position of Pluto, Jupiter or Uranus in your birth chart? It makes a difference for you personally how these are configured, but generally, with the Moon in stressful contact with Pluto, power struggles may ensue. Mother Moon will look to Jupiter for support; the benevolence of His warmth may calm things somewhat. These battling emotions may come through in your dreams. If you awake with the strong desire for mental challenge, something to occupy your overwrought mind, this could be Uranus influencing the Moon, and you. You may be able to channel this mental energy to accomplish something you will feel good about.

The day will conclude with the Moon  making a friendly visit to the Sun and shortly after, risking a brush with Mars. Empowered by Her time with the Sun, She may be able to hold back the aggressive tendency She feels in Mars’s company. Give yourself the space you need to do the same. She will step aside for a lengthy sojourn on Her own. It may be prudent for you to take the same path.

After the ups and downs of the weekend, Monday (12 August) will most likely feel very quiet. The Moon will continue on Her lone path, not making contact with any of Her companions again until just after midnight tonight. In the meantime, She does enter Scorpio, however, and this you may feel. Here the key words are intensity and passion so Mother Moon’s signature emotions are compounded, as yours may be.

Recall also that the Moon has been waxing in Her journey from New to Full. On Tuesday (13 August), She is nearly halfway in Her journey there. She is gaining strength, increasing Her power.  She absorbs the emotionality and transforms it to creative energy. Try to make this transformation yourself, too.  The Moon’s first contact in Scorpio will be with Neptune. This will enhance dream time where you may discover answers you are unable to fathom in your waking hours.

During the same dreams, the Moon will make contact with Saturn. Darker, more difficult emotions may also become part of the dreamscape. Mother Moon encourages our working through the somber thoughts and inhibitions we may find. On waking you may have difficulty expressing the unconscious threads that were woven throughout your dreams. Mercury and Mother Moon are straining in their relationship as you may strain to make sense or even coherent sentences regarding your night’s experience.

Pluto, ruler of Scorpio will make haste to join the interaction of the Moon and Mercury. His intentions appear innocent, but it is His nature to perpetuate transformative cycles. Most likely these three have stirred up what needed to be stirred up, now you will carry the residue through your day, your unconscious mulling it over and over….

There is relief, as mid-morning Jupiter embraces Mother Moon, showering Her with cosmic good fortune, and maybe you with His generous good nature and protective spirit. Your natural response may be to seek the nurturing company of your dearest friends. Do so, and know that Wednesday (14 August) will not present such weighty emotional energy.

Early this morning the Moon will visit Mars. It will be very early in your day and Her visit is amicable. She will be energized, as always, by Mars’ dynamic essence. You too may be so empowered. A little later, Mother Moon squares off with the Sun; this is Her halfway point to Full. This configuration can create a spurt of forward motion for you. This day winds down happily with the Moon and Venus enjoying an early evening visit. Do something you love, with someone you love.

Before the night is over, Mother Moon enters Sagittarius. High spirits and thoughts of a bright future are on the horizon. Although the Moon will allow Neptune to guide Her dream journey overnight, which may make more vivid the content of your own dreams, Her day will be solitary. Not until Thursday evening (15 August) will she make contact with Uranus and later Mercury. In Her current environment, the Moon makes the most of the gifts these two bestow. Depending on their positions in your natal chart, perhaps you will find benefit in Her contact with them as well. An idea you have been pondering, or a plan you have been considering may suddenly come together and be the exact solution to (what you thought was) an insurmountable dilemma.

After making Her abeyances to the Sun overnight, the Moon will seek Her restful path until entering Capricorn. Friday (16 August) will allow Her, and you may feel it as well, the opportunity to move forward with ease. It should be a great time to pursue your wondrous solution. In Capricorn, organization and discipline reign, so the ability to follow through is probable.

If your project involves a choice between form and function, Saturday morning (17 August) could present a challenge for you. The Moon will be in the company of Venus who is ensconced in Her home in Libra and emanating energy of aesthetic priorities while the Capricorn Moon seeks the boundaries of function. Neptune will join the fray, encouraging an eye to the imaginative and soon after Saturn steps up to offer His support for doing what is tried and true.

This challenge is worked out in the most congenial atmosphere. Unless your personal natal configurations deem otherwise, you will likely find your way to a comfortable solution that suits you. By mid-afternoon, when the Moon makes intimate contact with Pluto, Her mandate will be to do what is best for yourself, from your own sense of self-worth, to bolster your own sense of autonomy.

As She checks in with Jupiter, who encourages balance among opinions, and Uranus, who leans toward the most unique individualized answers, you may not have the final decision made, but you will know you are able to make the right choice when you do. You will have most of the day Sunday (18 August) to consider all the options, without the Moon being nudged from multiple directions.

Later in the afternoon, She will encounter Mars, but with the strength of conviction even His impetuous energy can be kept in check. The Moon will forge on, making Her way on Her own. She is the perfect model for your behavior. Take the direction that suits you; heed Mars’ encouragement to take charge now.

As Sunday becomes Monday (19 August), and with the Moon nearly Full, She enters Aquarius. It may be that this morning brings you to your final decision and with the Aquarian influence; it will be to go with the answer that you absolutely know is yours. As the morning progresses, Venus and Saturn will each make their final bid to Mother Moon. Each is strong, residing in their own signs and She will feel their preferences. You may be swayed by one, or the other, depending on which one has the most pull in your birth chart.

Tonight, the Moon will receive Uranus once more before Her absolute Fullness. Their combined power is so great; you may yearn to be productive in some way. Be sure to suit yourself and remember that tomorrow night (20 August, 9:45 PM EDT) is the Full Moon. Make plans to celebrate Her, enjoy Her and receive the benefit of Her power.

July Full Moon Edition

FM in Aqu_wort_thCA2I9HE6

As the day of July’s Full Moon begins (Monday, 22 July), Mars and Jupiter will be in an astrological conjunction which can mean good timing for all kinds of endeavors. Action is the urge and growth is the likely outcome. Allow your creative inclinations a wide range for you may also find increased opportunity in doing so. The Moon will be setting as the rising Sun is lighting the sky; if you are up by 6:30 AM EDT it will be well worth the look outside. You will be seeing the last of the Capricorn Moon, and the last shining of the Sun in Cancer.

At 8:41 AM EDT, Venus will enter Virgo and depending on the specific position of Venus in your birth chart, the effect will be more or less powerful. For many, this position of Venus will enhance your creative streak, especially if you lean toward the crafts and manual skills. A few hours later, nearly simultaneously, the Moon will step into a time of no contact with Her companions of the sky; a time of ease and to keep things low key. The Sun will enter the astrological sign of Leo.

Especially if your personal configuration includes a Leo Sun, or an Aquarian Moon, the next shift may be quite noticeable to you. There is no more inspired or creative energy than the Sun in Leo; bask in it, as every Leo revels in doing. Where is your individual center? What is your unique wellspring? The energy of the Moon in Aquarius may reveal the answers to these questions for you. Within minutes of each other the Moon will take these Her new position in the zodiac, and She will reach Her Fullest, being in direct opposition to the Sun. This balance of Aquarian and Leonine energy on Monday afternoon is likely to make itself known! See if you feel its influence….

Monday evening will once again provide a magnificent view as the Moon rises at 8:18 PM EDT, amidst the twilight of the Sun’s setting (8:25 PM EDT). The July Full Moon in Aquarius, called by some The Wort Moon, as it is the harbinger of the bountiful harvest season, will cast Her silvery luminescence upon us through the night, setting at 7:46 AM EDT, nearly an hour past the Sunrise (6:49 AM EDT). As the evening turns to night, She will encounter the sobering influence of Saturn, you too may fell it. Consider that all things creative must have their grounding in some parameters and boundaries in order to serve your purposes.

Monday’s many surges and shifts of planetary energy will make Tuesday (23 July) a welcome day of quiet. Mid-morning Mother Moon will make a friendly visit with Uranus, fueling Her independent spirit, and immediately retire to Her lone course, touching no other companions until Wednesday afternoon. You may also wish to cease the day for a bit of self-indulgence, at least in an emotional and spiritual way.

Once the Moon enters Pisces on Wednesday afternoon (24 July), She begins anew to make contact with Her companions. In Pisces She is all about the journey and Her first charge is to negotiate with Venus. In love and friendship, there is always balance to be sought, just as in beauty, function is often sought. These are the kinds of questions you may find arising. Later this night, She takes some intimate time with Neptune. Dreams become real possibilities when shared with Neptune. The Moon encourages us to give credence to our wildest dreams for from them come our most creative endeavors. She accepts a friendly visit from Saturn during this night, too. Saturn is ever vigilant in His role reminding Mother Moon of the rules we must all respect and the limitations we must realize. It will be a night of dreams tempered by the boundaries of reality.

During the very early hours of Thursday morning (25 July), the Moon will make contact with Jupiter and then with Mars. These are rendevous of encouragement. You may recognize a positive attitude and an inclination to act on something in the back of your mind as you awaken. With Pluto’s influence also felt, you may find your way to finish up something you should have awhile ago, or to get started on something you have been planning to get to. Later in the afternoon, the Moon takes time with Mercury. Yours and others’ feelings may suddenly make sense to you. Mercury has a way of clarifying for Mother Moon the emotions She freely expresses.

While Mercury seized to appear to move backwards from our earthly perspective back on July 20, He has not returned to His full forward path either. This week He is in His “storm,” a time when He appears quite still to us. During this time the mischief or depth of questioning He invokes is not as strong, but His ability to tip things slightly off balance is still in play. Through 27 July (Saturday), beware of this possibility.

Having made Her brief contact with Mercury, the Moon moves into an extended time of traveling Her path on Her own. By Friday (26 July), four days past Her maximum fullness, Her waning is well underway. She is in the beginning stages of Her monthly journey inward which She encourages all Her mortal children to take as well. Each period of being void of course, as She will be until later this evening, is an opportunity to ponder the void within.

Your pondering may also be influenced by Venus’s activity today. Her travels bring Her to a struggle for balance with Neptune; love is often surrounded by our desire to see through the veil of romance and allusion we may encounter. Saturn will seek to aid Venus. You may find yourself remembering strategies and signs which have seen you through other times of discerning true feelings from the illusions of desire. Trust these, feel the assertion of Self as the Moon makes Her way into the sign of Aries.

Overnight Mother Moon will be nurtured by the Sun. She will need His strength and the strong sense of self Her position in Aries yields. Saturday (27 July) holds the good news that Mercury has settled back into His regular pattern of forward movement, but it holds a number of challenges for the Moon. Jupiter steps in first, and He is never the Moon’s enemy, but His position tempts Her. His message may be just that – beware the temptation to overindulge yourself.

Mid-morning the Moon squares off with Mars and Pluto. If you feel yourself speaking, acting or making decisions brashly, you are under the same influence with which  Mother Moon is coping. Try to take a deep breath, a step back or a delay in deciding. This may not be the best time to finalize anything, or to enter something without real consideration of it. If you do find yourself faced with such circumstances, feeling you must act, do your best to hold off until another day. Even as this day progresses, Mars will oppose Pluto creating the possibility of further friction for decision making. As the Moon moves close to Uranus, the danger arises that Her inclination to take a “devil may care” attitude could become yours. Tomorrow is another day.

As Saturday winds down, the Moon will be challenged once more. Mercury’s last attempt to muddy Her thinking or confound your prudence will especially be felt by those with a strong Mercurial influence in their birth chart. Go to bed, ignore the taunt, action need not be taken tonight. Follow the Moon into a period of journeying alone.

Sunday (28 July) the Moon is resting. You should feel free to do what you find the most nurturing, healing and restorative for yourself. Venus will start the day tarrying with Jupiter. Their joyful energy should be felt and cherished today.

As Sunday yields to Monday (29 July), the Moon enters Taurus. In Taurus Mother Moon feels secure, She has no need nor desire for change. You may feel quite the same for the next few days. She is also very sociable today, making contact with most of Her companions. This morning She will allow Her imagination to soar with Neptune, only to be brought back to earth by Saturn and mid-day reminded by the Sun of Her true Self and purpose. Perhaps your morning will flow in much the same way.

The Moon in Taurus will enjoy Her evening and into the night as Jupiter and Venus cajole and entertain Her, and even Pluto adds His support. Last to make His appearance is Mars who likewise is supportive. Much depends on your own natal configurations, but the Moon’s influence as it is fueled by each of these visitors is unlikely to effect you negatively. In allowing our emotions to guide us, as Mother Moon encourages, we can learn and gain from the lessons of all Her companions. This is a great evening to simply follow your emotions and accept what they may reveal to you.

Tuesday morning (30 July) begins with Venus and Pluto’s tete á tete. When these two get together the ensuing energy is Love and the impact that of a ton of bricks. Check your heart and your thoughts. If someone is intensely on your mind, or some loving task is begging to be done, do not ignore these feelings. Here may be the culmination of all that you realized yesterday as the Moon gleaned all that she could through the day, and as hopefully you did the same. Say the words you are longing to say, make the call you are yearning to make, write the poem your heart is bursting to express…

The Moon will seek Mercury’s support mid-day. You may feel the empowerment of their encounter as the thoughts become more clear, the words more succinct. The astrological forces are aligned in your favor, do take advantage of them! And then, rest. Mother Moon will do so for nearly 24 hours. You may enjoy taking the time to journal your feelings or meditate on your new found depth of emotion.

In Gemini the Moon feels thus because Geminian energy is that of mental busy-ness. As She enters this sign on Wednesday (31 July), you may feel a spurt of the same energy. It’s time to make plans, meet friends, play games and be entertained! Allow yourself to be energized and know that if you feel yourself getting a bit too carried away, Neptune’s attempts to completely romanticize your aspirations will be challenged by the Moon. She loves to dream, but in Gemini can speculate at lightning speed, avoiding many pitfalls. That skill is an advantage you can also enjoy now.

Late Wednesday night, Mars will be in perfect square with Uranus. These two are notorious for seeing accidents occur when they contact each other in this way. If these two are prominent in your personal natal configuration, it is best to beware. For most, the possible upheavals will be on a community or national scale. It can’t hurt to keep it in mind.

August will begin on Thursday (1 August) with the Moon and Sun in friendly contact with each other. Good vibes for starting the day, as Leo the performer feeds Gemini’s love of being entertained. It’s a good attitude for starting your day. As the day progresses, there may be some challenges among friends or colleagues. The Moon will be facing off with Venus and the energy created may influence your relationship skills. Uranus will also have its input for the Moon. She appreciates it; for you such input may put you in a position of seeming aloof or uncaring. If you don’t mean to be taken that way, you will have to work at changing the perception.

After Her encounter with Uranus, the Moon seeks respite once again in a solitary path, void of contact with the planets. She will maintain this course all day Friday (2 August). She is only days now from Her complete Dark phase. She is turning ever inward and seeking the wisdom this month’s journey has conferred. You may wish to do the same, to prepare for the Dark phase which is imminent, for the meditation or quest for tangible growth in the past weeks.

As Saturday (3 August) begins, the Moon will slip into Cancer. Now She is at home. In Cancer the Moon seeks to nurture, to remind us of all those who have nurtured us and to encourage us to nurture others. This morning She will contact Neptune whose vision is sometimes quite clear. Perhaps you will see with fresh eyes those who have been there for you, or those for whom you need to be there. Saturn, our serious friend, often spoken of as representing the father figure, can be relied upon to remind us to be grateful for the boundaries our authority figures delineated for us, and the firm hand that disciplined us to become responsible adults.

As the evening begins, the Moon will make close contact with Jupiter who rejoices in bounty and success. At your evening meal is a perfect time to realize these forces of our natural surroundings and to count your blessings. Later this evening Pluto does share a serious note with Mother Moon. This is His way, always reminding us that every new and glorious beginning is the product of the end of something that has gone before. It will feel right to honor the past and to celebrate the future tonight.

Sunday (4 August) during the wee early hours the Moon will find Herself challenged by Uranus. Uranus sees change as it approaches, warns of the outcomes and shields those who may wish to ignore the changes. Mother Moon will share these understandings as Sunday progresses. A little later the Moon moves to conjunct Mars. She hears His urges to take action, take a stand, move forward. Today you may feel you must do the same. Venus will join the Moon’s refrain to follow your heart.

The next contact Mother Moon makes is with Mercury. Once their contact is past, She sets Her course to be alone throughout the morning. Today is Monday (5 August) and there is just one more day before the Dark Phase of Her journey. Mercury’s influence may offer you understanding in communication, crystallization of thought or revelation of an answer with which you have been toying. Take it to heart and take it with you as you take your own journey inward today. Mid-day, the Moon will enter Leo. In Leo the Moon focuses on Her self as creator, but as creator of all that is dear to Her. What have you created that represents the best of you? What could you create that would demonstrate the depth and breadth of your inner being? You may feel the dynamic of struggle as you wrestle with “I could, but I can’t” kinds of thoughts.

These are the thoughts and queries to carry into Tuesday (6 August), the day of the Dark and the New Moon. The Moon seeks once again the freedom Uranus offers – freedom of thought and of spirit lest any obstacle blur Her vision before She pushes into the Void of such close proximity to the Sun and the lone journey inward. Allow yourself to do the same!
